WHY LJ?
My name is Loujanna (LJ) Rohrer, and I’m honored to be running for the Pierce County Charter Review Commission, representing District 6, Position 3. I’ve proudly called Pierce County home for the past 44 years. I’m a wife of 28 years, a mom to four incredible children, and a dedicated public servant with over a decade of experience in government and community leadership. Throughout my career— I’ve worked to bring people together, listen carefully, and help craft thoughtful, effective policies that reflect the values of our communities. My campaign for the Charter Review Commission is about protecting the foundation of our local government and ensuring it works for the people it’s meant to serve.
I bring experience, dedication, and deep roots in our community. I understand how local government work, how it can work better, and most importantly I know how to work with large groups of people to bring consensus. I believe in thoughtful review, careful listening, and putting community values before political trends. As your voice on the Charter Review Commission, I will be focused on ensuring our county government remains transparent, balanced, and accountable to the people of Pierce County.
I would be honored to earn your support and your vote.

THE CHARTER REVIEW COMMISSION
The Pierce County Charter is essentially our local constitution—it lays out the structure, powers, and responsibilities of county government. Every ten years, the County convenes a Charter Review Commission, made up of 21 citizens—three from each of the seven council districts. Commissioners are elected by the public in a non-partisan election. The election for Charter Review Commission is in August with a primary and in November with a general election. Commissioners begin their limited term up to six months in January of 2026.
The Commission’s role is to review the county charter and recommend changes, if needed, to improve government accountability, transparency, efficiency, and responsiveness. Any proposed changes may be sent to voters for approval. It’s a unique opportunity for everyday citizens to shape how our government functions.
